What's the difference between Israel Defense Force(IDF) and Mossad?

It's like the difference between the United States military and the CIA, or between the British military and MI6. They are separate organizations, with the Mossad's main goal being obtaining intelligence information about other countries, or organizations working abroad, and executing covert operations outside of Israel and the Palestinian territories.
