Suggestions for books to read?

Some of my favourite books are Self, The Facts Behind the Helsinki Roccomatios - both by Yann Martel, Lolita by Vladomir Nabokov, and I just love books written really poetically and that give really strong images and that really make you think afterwards. I'm open to any suggestions, thanks in advance!
